Feel Younger, Live Better
We Use Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a precision method of delivering the exact hormones your body needs to achieve a state of balance. These hormones are pressed or fused into small pellets that look like small cylinders. The pellets are inserted under the skin where they release constant levels of hormones 24/7. Bio-Identical hormones are identical in every way to the hormones our body naturally produces (same exact molecular structure)
When your body no longer produces the proper levels of hormones needed, the BHRT pellets replace the hormones your body is lacking. It is critical for the body to deliver the right amount of hormones at the right time. The pellets provide a constant low dose of the exact hormones your body makes and uses. BHRT has proven to be the most effective and safest delivery system of the specific hormones your body requires in terms of absorption and availability. Unlike creams, gels or injections, the pellets provide more consistent levels over a longer period of time. Unlike oral hormones (or pills/capsules), BHRT pellets bypass the liver and do not increase the risk of breast cancer, heart attack, stroke or dementia and do not significantly increase the risk of thrombosis.
Before We Begin...
Before bio-identical hormone replacement is prescribed, a baseline hormonal profile is obtained by a blood test. Depending on the results of this test, your medical history, weight, and symptoms, a hormone replacement regimen and individualized dosing can then be recommended.
Dr. Cross strongly believes that the most optimal way to receive information is with a personal, one on one consultation with the physician.
This in depth discussion will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will include a slide presentation given by Dr. Cross. The following topics will be reviewed:
- The basics of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement
- The differences between Bioidentical and Synthetic Hormones
- The benefits of Testosterone Replacement in women and men will be emphasized, including the latest research on Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Osteoporosis.
- A comparison of hormone delivery methods will be made and the multiple benefits of subcutaneous hormone pellet therapy will be discussed.
Once Your Healthcare Provider determines that you are a candidate for BHRT,
we will schedule a short, simple in-office procedure using local anesthesia. Dr. Cross will insert the pellets into the fatty layer just beneath your skin. In men and women, a small incision is made in the buttocks. The process is painless and takes just a few minutes.
Following your initial treatment, the body’s hormone levels are restored to their proper levels and optimal balance.
